  Rich Simon

Rich grew up in New Jersey. His experience in renewable energy started back in the 1970’s when he moved to Maine, bought some land, and built a cabin with an off grid solar array. He has always been fascinated by the natural world and energy. The founding of The Power Company is a natural extension of his observations of the evolution of the renewable energy market place. Rich has 30 years business development experience as well as project develop and team management expertise.

 

  Steve Bowers

Steve has been working with Maine business owners for over 30 years.   Steve has broad tax knowledge and experience in the area of income taxation of partnerships, limited liability companies and corporations. He is also responsible for advising clients on renewable energy transactions, with a significant focus on transactions that involve federal, state and local tax and financial incentives including depreciation laws, tax credits, grants and low interest loans. “The opportunity is there right now to improve small business profitability through energy savings”. Steve lives in Winthrop with his partner Sheila Parker and their two sons Chris and Nate.

  Scott Hays

As a co-founder of The Power Company he manages both business development and project financing efforts.  Scott develops TPC’s strategic focus, raises investment capital, structures investments and performs the site assessment, preliminary design and economic pro-forma analysis for TPC’s commercial solar PV projects. 

Scott has over 20 years of experience in operations management, financial analysis and business development. He has served as President, Chief Compliance Officer and Senior Vice President of Marketing and Business Development for the investment services divisions of several nationally traded financial institutions.

Prior to TPC, Scott was SVP of Development for Niemann Capital LLC, where he assisted private developers, non-profit entities, and community development entities and corporations in the commercial re-development of historic mill properties. He has experience with Brownfield revitalization, Low-income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC), New Market Tax Credits (NMTC), Federal Renewable Energy Tax Credits, Historic Tax Credits and State Enterprise Zone Credits.

His prior experience also includes 10 years in environmental planning and design. Scott is a graduate of Ohio Wesleyan University and has held several securities industry licenses including; Operations Principal (series 24), Municipal Bond Principal (series 53) and Registered Representative (series 7).
